Rock Art of the Dakhleh Oasis. Egyptian Western Desert.

        We cordially invite you to visit our permanent exhibition "Rock Art of Dakhleh Oasis. Egyptian Western Desert". Its opening took place in July 2003, during IV Dakhleh Oasis Symposium. For many years now Poznan Archeological Museum has been actively taking part in investigation of this extraordinary cultural phenomenon in various parts of the world, among others in Dakhleh Oasis in the Southern Egypt. We would like to share with you the results of this research to the higher extent, unfortunately the peculiarity of the rock art all over the world is its 'attachment" to the place were it was executed. To make it possible also for you to see these works of art created by nowadays forgotten artists, we present the collection of photographs of the chosen depictions.
